Bishwajit Goswami is a painter from Bangladesh. He earned his BFA in Drawing and Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, and his MFA in Painting from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, India. Goswami’s preferred medium is using acrylic on canvas, but he has also been known to experiment with different medias, which include painting on tiled saris and installations. His works have been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in Bangladesh and abroad.
Goswami is a recipient of the Grand Prize, ’100 years Celebration Art Show’, at National Museum, Dhaka; Young Artist Award, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Shahid Nona Mia Memorial Award, University of Dhaka; ‘Top Influential Gallery Award’, 15th Beijing International Art Expo; The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award, Canada; The 9th Eastern Region Art Award in Mixed Media, India; Best Media Award, Pencil, Annual Exhibitions of Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka; amongst numerous others. He is presently a Lecturer of the Drawing & Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.
